Rooted in the Baltic peoples’ belief that all things possess anima—a spirit or breath—I draw inspiration from my heritage. Though I have recently become a dual U.S. citizen, my roots remain deeply anchored in Kurzeme, Latvia, where my ancestors have lived and practiced their traditions for millennia.

When I discovered metal as a medium, I immediately sensed its anima—deep connections to time immemorial, the very core of the earth, carrying the weight of deep, silent knowing.

As a metal artist, it is my task to step aside and let the metal speak. My role is to listen and translate this primal language into art.

Using natural metal patination processes with elements like earth, fire, and mineral pigments, I aim to evoke a primitive yet poetic essence.
