primitive poetic is my ongoing study of the language of metal and what it teaches me about time, presence, and being human.

my heritage—i was born in the western coast of latvia—shapes how i work with metal. in baltic traditions, nature, soul and god are closely woven together. this has installed in me a deep reverence for the natural world and the interconnectedness of all things.

i see metal as organically inorganic matter that has been here since the beginning of time, carrying a deep and silent knowing. metal asks to be present. it asks us to return to the practice of now. to listen to what eternity has to whisper to my brief human experience.
